Project Description
After raising the money instead of the MRI scan, the doctor switched it to CT scan. Mary Fremah's scan took place on 4th November 2020 at Spectra Scan Centre. We did two different Scan which was 1,040 Ghana cedis (200 euros). She was later referred to a specialist (Neurosurgeon) at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital who asked for an MRI scan (200 euros ).
The MRI scan results showed that the probability for Mary to walk again was very low even if we proceed with the surgery. Mary Fremah is a 32-year-old widow and mother of 3 who lost her husband 6 years ago. She has been paralysed since 2017. After attending about two hospitals, she was referred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi-Ghana.
After three visits, her mother fell seriously sick when it was due for the next review. Mary developed bedsores after that break, and she struggled with it for more than a year. God being so good, the medical officer of Kokofu General Hospital, Dr. Bernard Akoto treated the bedsores. With that done, the healing process must continue. The Dr requested for an MRI scan and other lab test which was 2,500 Ghana cedis (350 euros).
